I have what I believe is a late 60's or early 70's Shakespeare WONDERCAST and WONDEROD for sale. Starting with the rod: It is marked WONDEROD by SHAKESPEARE Presidential _B 508_M 6'-0" KWIKTAPER DGC PAT. 2,749,643 CANADIAN PAT. 556.257. The underscores are letters I can't read. All of the original eyes are intact with no repairs seen. Length 6 foot. The cork handle is in really good shape for its age. There are some small spots on the edges that are missing or worn. Look at pics closely. Now the reel is marked Shakespeare PUSH-BUTTON WONDERCAST NO.1777 on the left side and No. 1777 SHAKESPEARE MADE IN USA MODEL FC on the right side. All functions of the reel operate smoothly. The only issue is the tortoise shell colored Bakelite knob on the handle barely turns and has a crack in it. (See Pic) This is an awesome and well cared for vintage piece.
